Thank you for your interest in applying for a post in the School of Law at Sheffield.
We're currently seeking to make three new appointments: a Lecturer in Law and a University Teacher in Law on open-ended contracts, plus a one-year fixed term Lecturer in Law. All posts to start in September 2025 or at a later date by arrangement. These posts are open to applicants from all areas of law, but we are especially keen to attract applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas: property law; company law; commercial law; criminal law; environmental and climate change law; intellectual property law; employment law; and sale of goods.
The School of Law is large and diverse with an international reputation for excellence in research, for the expertise of its staff, and the achievement of its graduates. Our vision is to advance the interdisciplinary understanding of law, socio-legal studies and criminology, combining outstanding research with innovative research-led teaching. We offer four undergraduate and three masters degree programmes. We have a lively community of PhD students and research associates, who also contribute to the life of the School, including seminars, workshops, conferences and reading groups.
I'm very happy to answer questions and to have informal discussions about these positions or the School, so please do feel free to contact me by emailing r.m.kirkham@sheffield.ac.uk.
